As an alternative to completing a 3 day course Leysen are offering a CD ROM based self study course that has been written by an ISEB/ISTQB accreditied course trainer for both Foundation and Practitioner's courses.

This has all the detail that you will require to pass the ISEB/ISTQB Foundation Certificate in Software Testing at significantly less cost than other alternatives at £150 plus p&p and VAT. 

If you have not already attained the Foundation Certificate, the reason may be that you have not had the time, cannot afford the course, feel that you are too experienced in testing to bother etc…

We would like to emphasise that about 60% of Leysen clients now specify that they are ideally looking for ISEB accredited candidates for both their contract and permanent roles. In a quiet market, this means that they, and therefore we, use this criteria as an initial stage in the selection process for such clients where there are a large number of potential candidates.

Computer-based ISEB/ISTQB Foundation exam

You may also not be aware of the fact that as well as four ISEB/ISTQB public paper exam dates per year (for which you have to give 3 weeks notice) you can now sit computer-based exams (two days notice) by attending one of 124 centres in the UK. Please click here for more information.

The combination of the self study program and the computer-based exam process means that you will save a significant amount of time and money in achieving ISEB/ISTQB accreditation, which now has widespread acceptance in the marketplace. It is seen not only as an illustration of having the basics of testing, but it also ensures that testing teams are all using the same testing terminology. It is therefore becoming more and more necessary for very experienced testers, as well as beginners, to have this accreditation. It is also a pre-requisite for the ISEB/ISTQB Practitioner’s course.

After following the course you will need to independently book a public exam via the ISEB ofices, these are usually held in London every quarter.
